Today 3 teenagers shouted ‘fucking Jews’ at my 10yr old and his mate (both wearing kippot and tzitzit*) as they walked up our sleepy suburban road. I know that he will have to navigate & deal with antisemitism as a young Jewish male, but I was not ready for it to start at this age
He already knows when to put a baseball cap on and tuck in his tzitzit (in parks, at football matches, etc). I worry about him and his friends because males are more likely to perpetrate violence against young male (rather than female) Jews. This is England 2019.
*kippot and tzitzit are visible signs of Jewishness
