LAAS Statement on Pete Newbon

“Labour Against Antisemitism has witnessed the events unfolding following our director Pete Newbon’s Twitter post with disbelief.

Pete is well known within the Jewish community as a thoroughly decent and kind man, and as one of its most steadfast, intelligent, and courageous defenders against antisemitism.

We consider the characterisation of him as anything other than antiracist, and the suggestion that his post was an antisemitic act, to be a deliberate and malicious inversion of the truth. He has our absolute support.”
